Dave-Tuggey-Dec-2013Tuggey Construction, a boutique design-build firm, has been remodeling and restoring luxury homes and specialty retail stores in Southern California for 30 years. Dave Tuggey, Founder, licensed General Contractor and LA-native, knows the importance and value of good relationships in order to deliver excellence. Over his decades of experience, Dave has built a specialized network and collaborative team of leading architects, designers and experienced craftsman to provide the finest quality custom remodeling in Southern California.

An ambitious self-starter, one of Dave’s first high-profile projects in the mid 80s was the renovation of James Coburn’s iconic Woodland Hills estate. Since then, he’s made a name for himself restoring and renovating numerous homes, carefully capturing the unique character and lifestyle of each client. One of Tuggey Construction’s most recent projects was the renovation of a 1960s home in Trousdale Estates, Beverly Hills, which featured spectacular 360 views from downtown to the ocean.

From the first I-beam to the last finishing detail, Dave oversees every project personally. An enthusiastic perfectionist, with building in his blood, Dave grew up surrounded by handcrafted furniture made by his grandfather. When he was 13, he built his first creation, a 15 ft. kayak in his woodshop class and became the local go-to-guy to build a custom kayak. He went on to study architecture and construction, and while apprenticing as a carpenter, he built a meticulously designed brick pathway to mimic the Yellow Brick Road at the home of Jack Haley, the Tin Man in “The Wizard of Oz.”

Thirty years later, Dave continues to be inspired by building and design with a passion for excellence. He thrives on the transformation of a client vision from a small idea to a grand finished reality. Tuggey Construction’s reputation is unsurpassed, offering top-notch workmanship with professional yet personal service, always placing client collaboration and privacy at the core of their business.
